Writing Poetry: Getting Started with Claire Askew

  • Dunbar Library, Bleachingfield Centre Countess Crescent Dunbar, EH42 United Kingdom

It doesn't matter if you're an experienced writer with many poems under your belt, or someone who's never written a poem before but always fancied it.  Come along to this workshop with Tyne and Esk Writers' Creative Writing Fellow Claire Askew, and "get started" on a brand new poem.

Claire Askew is the Creative Writing Fellow at Tyne and Esk Writers.  From March 2016, she'll also be working as Edinburgh's very first Reading Champion, based at Craigmillar Library.  Her debut poetry collection, This changes things, has just been published by Bloodaxe Books, and was shortlisted for the Edwin Morgan Poetry Award.  Claire is now hard at work on her first novel.
