To celebrate the launch of our festival. We decided to send four of our writers to Aberlady and challenge them to make their way back along the coast. We asked our intrepid wordsmiths to document their journey in photography, in short films and of course in their own words.
It was a beautiful East Lothian day and our writers, Roy Moller, Colin Will, Sheree Mack and Hannah Lavery walked, wrote and spread the word along the way.
It was particularly fitting for a festival which is passionate about our stories, poems and words and our beautiful coast that we launched our festival with a walk, with a showcase and celebration of our region with local writers and our writer in residence, Sheree Mack, ending her first week of residency in Dunbar.
It was an inspiring journey home and we hope that you will join us here in beautiful Dunbar in June, with established writers such as Liz Lochhead, Bernard MacLaverty, Dilys Rose and Singer Songwriter Monica Queen along with Local and Emerging Talent including the very impressive Scottish Book Trust New Writer Award Winners, the weekend promises to be something truly special.
